10 years Certified Breastfeeding Mum

I was not planning to breastfeed but when I heard that breastfeeding a baby is a natural and intuitive way of feeding your little one, I decided to try. But I discover that breastfeeding is ot a walk in the park. It is not so easy, not so natural and if you are not well supported, meaning with empathy and kindsness then you can easily give up.....

I finally breastfed my 4 kids, 2,5 years each of my 3 boys and my little daughter who will turn 4 soon is still breastfed.

I faced so many difficulties but I always overcame them. One big challenge was the return to work. How is it possible to breastfeed my baby whereas I need to go back to work? This is where my journey of breastfeeding support in the workplace started: a parental policy, a breastfeeding learning program, a "mama mentors" network. It has been a real success for both parents and the company. Many mums benefit from the breastfeeding program. It should be set up in all wrokplaces!

My Philosophy

I'm not a breastfeeding activist, I'm not a breastfeeding mum who's doing lobbying for everyone to breastfeed. I just think that breastfeeding is first a choice and then a right that everyone has to access to the information she/he needs to take informed choices. And if this choice is to breastfeed then they deserve the appropriate support all along the journey, from pregnancy to back to work and even beyond.

I'm not here to convince anyone, I'm not here to judge anyone, I'm here to share my 10 years breastfeeding experience, providing with tips and tricks parents need to give them the best start in breastfeeding and pursue the journey as long as they wish.

Breastfeeding is not an easy choice, it is a real way of living, a choice for the entire family and no one can influence this choice. The health care professionals and the society do have a responsibility in providing with the most up-to-date information that is scientifically-based to avoid myths and facts.

Unfortunatly we miss education and training and when it comes to the workplaces, a choice to stop breastfeeding is forced by the lack of knowledge. That's why I decided to help companies, institutions and all organizations in supporting breastfeeding for working mums and parents.
